Returns & Refunds
HipComic is an online marketplace home to thousands of independent sellers. Each seller sets their own return policy, listed in the Shipping tab on every item page. The protections below apply to every purchase, regardless of the individual seller's stated policy.
When you can return an item
You can request a return when:
- The item arrives damaged.
- The item is significantly different from how it was described in the listing (wrong item, wrong condition, missing details that would have changed your decision to buy).
- The item never arrives.
Notify the seller within 7 days of delivery (or of the date the item was expected to arrive, if it never came). Sellers are required to accept eligible returns under our terms and conditions, even if their listing says otherwise.
How to start a return
- Open the order in your Members Area > Buying and click Contact Seller.
- Describe the issue and request a refund or replacement. Include photos if the item arrived damaged or differs from the listing.
- Most sellers respond within 1–3 business days. If the seller doesn't respond, or if you can't reach an agreement, contact our support team &mdash we'll work with the seller on your behalf.
Return shipping & refunds
- Returns are sent by mail to the seller's address, which the seller will provide once the return is approved.
- Unless the seller's listing or our support team specifies otherwise, the buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. When the issue is the seller's fault (wrong item, item not as described, damage in transit), the seller is generally expected to cover return shipping.
- Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 3–5 business days after the seller receives the returned item.
Buyer Protection
All eligible purchases on HipComic are covered by PayPal's Buyer Protection, which can refund the purchase price plus original shipping when an item arrives significantly not as described or doesn't arrive at all. If you and the seller can't resolve an issue and our support team can't help, you can file a claim directly with PayPal from the Resolution Center on the transaction's PayPal detail page.
Items that can't be returned
Some items are sold "as-is" and aren't eligible for return when accurately described &mdash for example, lots photographed in detail with all condition issues disclosed. The seller's policy will identify these in the listing's Shipping tab. Items that arrive damaged or significantly not as described are always eligible for return regardless of how the listing was marked.
