THE GARGOYLE, created by JM DeMatteis and Don Perlin as a member of The DEFENDERS, was actually an elderly man - Isaasc Christians - who made a deal with a demon to take down an evil gang, but wound up having his consciousness transferred into a living Gargoyle.

This 4-issue mini-series from 1985, by creator DeMatteis and illustrated by Mark Badger, tells of Christians' attempt to regain his true form (now inhabited the spirit of the gargoyle who made the trade) and reclaim his lost love from many years ago!

The covers are a gallery of fine artists - premiere among them the painted work of Berni Wrightson on issue #1, and Jon J. Muth on #2!

These four copies of THE GARGOYLE, though forty-one years old, are in great shape with no  faults or flaws visible. The bindings are strong, the pages are supple and bright, and with minimal toning.  There is a slight bit of curl to the lower right of all four copies.

We grade them conservatively at a 7.0 FN/VF . . and as such, the Overstreet Price Guide lists the quartet at $18. We'll list it at just $12.00, and throw in our always-L•O•W shipping of just $2.
