Writer Roy Thomas and the incredible John Buscema present another action-filled AVENGERS tale - this time, it's "Pursue the Panther!", with the focus on BLACK PANTHER!

Here in AVENGERS #74, from March of 1970 the AVENGERS (GOLIATH, VISION, WASP, YELLOWJACKET), turn their focus on an out-of-control BLACK PANTHER, who has been seen committing a string of crimes and mayhem across the city!

The AVENGERS, seeking to get to the bottom of things, track down and battle the "Black Panther", who manages to escape. But the AVENGERS soon see on television that the Black Panther has been captured and is about to be unmaskerd! The AVENGERS rush to the TV station only to find that the "Black Panther" "unmasked" by his captors was really an impostor who had been committing the crimes!

This is a great copy of this 56-year old comic, with a strong binding, supple pages, minimal toning and good color. There are, however, a number of odd 'stains' near the staples on some of the interior pages. vBut nothing mars the great story by Roy Thomas, terrific art by John Buscema, and solid inking by Tom Palmer.

We're conservatively grading it an 6.5 FN+, for which the Overstreet Price Guide suggests a value of $28. Our price?? - just $24 . . and our LOW shipping cost will sweeten the deal.
