MAD MAGAZINE can even poke fun at a serious subject like Climate Change . . . and well before that became a common phrase in our country, MAD was tickling and getting giggles from the Environment!

MAD magazine frequently repackaged its material in a long series of "Super Special" format magazines, beginning in 1958. These 70-page reprint issues were sometimes augmented by exclusive features such as posters, stickers and, in this issue, a set of 4 Postcards on the issue's main 'issue', which in this MAD SUPER SPECIAL #82 from the Summer of 1992 was the way we were treating Mother Earth.

The 'USUAL GANG OF IDIOTS'  --- Jack Davis, Sergio Aragones, Mort Drucker, Don Martin, Al Jaffee, Antonio Prohias, and Paul Coker Jr. - - with a sprinkling of other 'mad' cartoonists, appear in great reprintings of some of their best work from the 1970s - when Earth Day was new and novel!

•••• This issue claimed itself as a 'Limited Edition', and printed its copy number out of 1,004,300 in the upper right hand of the cover! This particular copy is #366,162 !

(There is something about the lesser-quality paper that MAD used that makes its pages difficult to scan without making them look like ancient parchment! The actual pages look much better than these sepia-toned scans!)

This copy is in excellent shape, with a solid and still-square binding, and no tears, or creases and a back cover that isn't "folded-in" - a nice and tight specimen of a 44 year-old magazine that was probably read under the covers with a flashlight!  

 We conservatively grade this at 9.0 VF/NM.  As such, The Overstreet Price Guide lists a value of $8. . . but we're offering it at $6 . . with our always-LOW shipping . . and FREE shipping for additional purchases!
